High Chief Dr. Francis I. I. Eshiebor was born on March 22, 1958 at Agenebode in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State. He had his elementary education at Local Authority Primary School and Saint John’s College, Fugar in Edo State. He later attended The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi where he graduated in 1983 with the Upper Credit. He also had the Best Academy Performance Award of the Department of Business Administration and Management Studies of the same institution.
After the completion of his NYSC in 1983/84 service year, High Chief I.I. Eshiebor worked in several media establishments. He was in Railway Advertising, Enugu, from 1980 to 1981, Unolab Co. Limited, Enugu as Outdoor Sales Manager from 1983 to 1985, Hobzy Media, Kano as General Manager in 1986 – 1989 before he established Nationwide Advertising Ltd, where he works presently as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. A holder of Post Graduate Certificate of the Advertising Practitioner Council of Nigeria, High Chief F.I.I. Eshiebor is Registered Practitioner in Advertising (rpa) and full member of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria, and in fact the Chairman of the Northern Chapter. He is also a holder of PhD – Doctor of Literature (HC) from Victoria Global University.
Apart from this, he is a Fellow, Institute of Industrialists and Corporate Administrators (FIICA), Fellow, Institute of Direct Marketing (FDM), and Fellow, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (FNIMN).
As a result of High Chief I.I. Eshiebor’s exemplary character, articulate and social charisma, he is a multiple Chief and was made a High Chief by the Okumagbe of Weppa Wanno Kingdom in 2007. He is the Unole of Weppa Wanno Kingdom, The Owekha of Edo, Kano and the Ogbenigwadidi of Weppa Wanno Kingdom.
He is a distinguished community leader and He was the president of Edo Community Association for nine years and was the Treasurer, Non-Indigenes Leaders Association, Kano besides being an Executive Member of Nigerian Field Society.
High Chief Eshiebor was the immediate past President and Director of Projects and Publicity of Kano Lions Club from 1992-1993. He is an executive member of the Nigerian Red Cross Society and immediate past Deputy National Co-ordinator of the Special Marshals of The FRSC.
High Chief Eshiebor is a recipient of many Honours and Awards as a result of his compassionate and amiable personality. He bagged the distinguished Merit Gold Award of the Idia Renaissance from the former First Lady of Edo State, Mrs Eki Igbinedion for contributing immensely to Edo Culture in 2005. The Bini Community in Kano honoured him with a Merit Award in 2008. Apart from this, the Federal Road Safety Commission RS 1.3 Katsina and RS1.2 Kano SMD in 2008, recognized his distinguished contributions to the safety of lives on the Nigerian Roads and honoured him with a Merit Award. In 2007, the Etsako Union of Nigeria, Kano Chapter, gave him a Distinguished Merit Award for his numerous contributions to their communities. In the same vein, Esan Community and Iviukhua Progressive Union World Wide, Kano Chapter, honoured him with the Distinguished Merit Award in 2006 and 2008 respectively. The Institute of Industrialists and Corporate Administrators, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to private enterprise and wealth creation awarded him a Merit Award of Excellence in 2008. Beside all these, the Edo Council of Chiefs, Kano Chapter bestowed on him the Distinguished Merit Award for exemplary character and hard work.
He was honoured with the Justice of The Peace (JP) by Edo State Government in December 2011, Ambassador for Peace by The Universal Peace Federation of the United Nations and Nollywood Gold Merit Award also in December 2011. Dr. Francis I.I. Eshiebor is a distinguished recipient of THE DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA MERIT AWARD (DINMA), conferred by People State & Resources (PSR) Magazine in recognition of his contribution to National Development (2013). High Chief (Dr) I.I. Eshiebor enjoys tremendous goodwill and confidence of the people on account of forthrightness and honesty of purpose. He is happily married and the marriage is blessed with six children. He has embarked on several welfare schemes and development programmes designed to improve the living standards of people from all walks of life.
